FAQ
1. Does Dr. Teh see clients on the weekends?
Weekend slots are reserved exclusively for existing clients. Therefore, for your initial appointment, I am only able to offer weekday availability.
2. I can only make it on weekends, can Dr. Teh guarantee weekend slots for all sessions?
Securing a weekend slot can be challenging as they are highly sought after and tend to fill up quickly, meaning I cannot guarantee availability for every appointment. It’s important to acknowledge that there will be occasions when you’ll need to schedule appointments during weekdays, possibly requiring medical or work leave to accommodate your or your child’s needs.
Update on 30/7/2024: Due to my increasing caseloads, weekend slots have become even more sought after. As a result, weekend slots can no longer be guaranteed. You must be prepared to take leave on weekdays or utilize school holidays for you and/or your child to attend appointments on weekdays. Thank you.
3. How frequently should I or my child see Dr. Teh?
The frequency of sessions varies depending on the severity of the condition, the resources available to the family, and the progress made in each case. Typically, sessions occur approximately once a week or at least twice a month on average. However, in more severe cases, initial sessions may occur more frequently, even several times a week. As progress is achieved, we will collaboratively discuss and adjust the timing and frequency of sessions to best meet your needs.
4. Does Dr. Teh provide in-house services?
Regrettably, my practice is strictly office-based. However, upon parental initiation, I am available to conduct school observation services, accommodating visits to the child’s school when necessary.
5. Does Dr. Teh provide services from The Happy Leaves’ Setia Alam branch?
I run my clinic exclusively from the Kelana Jaya branch.
6. Does Dr. Teh provide online services?
Yes, all sessions, including those for adults, teenagers, or parent training, can be conducted online. School consultations are also conducted online unless parents specifically request a school observation. The fees for online sessions remain the same as in-person sessions, as they incur similar overhead and administrative costs.
7. How much are the consultative, assessment and report fees? How long is the consultative session?
Please contact us via WhatsApp to inquire about our fees. My standard consultation session typically lasts between 50 to 60 minutes. If you are traveling from another state, please indicate this clearly and request a 1.5-hour slot if you’d like, as many out-of-state families prefer extended sessions to ensure thorough coverage of all necessary topics.
Regular sessions are 50-minutes only.
8. I would like for my child to receive therapy from Dr. Teh. However, my child already received a diagnosis from another professional. Can I skip the intake/ diagnostic session?
The intake session, which includes a comprehensive parent interview and child observation, is crucial for me to A) assess your child’s developmental progress thus far and B) understand the presenting concerns for initiating services with me. This ensures that we collaboratively identify treatment goals. Therefore, even with a previous diagnosis, your child would still need to undergo an intake session with me. The same applies for all adult cases.
9. What are the accepted payment methods?
We accept credit card, debit card, cash and online transfer. We do not accept TouchNGo.
10. Does Dr. Teh provde social skills group for my child of X age?
Kindly whatsapp us to inquire on the groups that I plan to run in the coming months. All new cases must undergo an intake session to determine child/ teen’s social and speech abilities, and ensure suitability of participation.
Update on 1/10/2024: Due to the high demand for social skills groups, certain age groups may experience a waiting time of up to one year, as I can only run one or two groups per quarter.
